March has been a powerhouse of a month for us. We've been shaking hands across the community at different events and across counties with new and loyal customers!
JC Property Professionals was honored to accept the Spark Plug Award at the McDowell Chamber of Commerce's Annual Banquet! This award goes to a business or a person who has shown an extra ‘spark of enthusiasm’ for our community or the Chamber in the past year through activities, proactive business practices, or forming positive relationships that benefit the community and the Chamber.
It’s been a month for variety here at JCP. We’re done clearing and site prepping in Boone and moving on to excavating the basement. We’re also finishing up a home build on the site on Gateway Mtn that we prepped this summer. E.B Construction worked with us to form for the concrete pour for the commercial site we’ve prepped in Valdese. We did some more concrete work in Hickory doing a driveway repair and French drain installation.
A job in Rutherfordton is complete where we installed septic, a driveway and created a pad for the owner's mobile homes. We also graded the way for a new campground in Union Mills. Along our road construction in Black Mountain, we’re helping out with utility work. In our hometown, we’re working on a retaining wall and dredging a pond. We took in some Lake James views this month while clearing for a house site and prepping the area for construction.
We've been all over the community this month working with the youth and building our hiring program! We participated in Purposeful Pathways where we spoke to local 5th graders about opportunities in our field. We also met with students at McDowell Tech from MEC and MAI at their Local Business Career Expo. Our hiring manager, Jordan, attended a luncheon with NC Works to learn about how we can help with reentry programs in our area!
